Diane Watkins

Watkins studied at Suffolk University, Boston in 1967-1968 and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, in 1971 with a degree in Fashion Design. She took classes in Ocmulgee Pottery from 1986-1989 and at the Mesa Arts Center in Ceramics from 2005-present. She attended NCECA 2009-Phoenix & 2011-Tampa, and the Stephen Hill Workshop in Prescott, AZ in 2010. Watkins also participated in Waxin Zang’s Sculpture Workshop at ASU, and Sergiei Isupov’s and Takashi Nazakato’s workshop at the Mesa Arts Center. She currently teaches ceramics at the MAC: children classes, basic wheel throwing and Slip Mono Printing. Watkins has owned, operated and sold three successful small businesses, taught craft classes to children and adults at her business in West Newbury, MA as well as at Essex Community College, Merrimac, MA. She taught After School Arts at the Page School in West Newbury, MA and implemented an after school arts program for the Ahwatukee YMCA in 1998. Watkins is a Past Steering Committee Chair, at the Artists Cooperative Gallery at the MAC. She had one piece juried into the gallery show called “MOM” in Phoenix and has sold and displayed pieces at the Atomica Ceramica show in the Chandler Center for the Arts as well as at the Student Art Show in Chandler Gilbert Community College. She also had a Sake Set on display at the Maricopa CC District Offices. Watkins also participated in the 10x10 Show at the Mesa Art Gallery and had one piece shown at Arizona Clay. She juried the Ceramic Show at the Chandler Center for the Arts Feb- March 2011. She was juried into the CRC tour run by the ASU Ceramic Research Center in 2012-2014 and is currently a Board Member there. Watkins has hosted a yearly Ceramic Holiday Sale at her home for the past 6 years. She is a Member of the Arizona Clay Association and has been the president of many organizations such as HOA’s, Garden Clubs, Social Organizations, Golf Groups. Currently she is the CEO Athletic Vantage , LLC.

Furthermore, I give consent for emergency medical treatment to the participant(s), no matter how severe. This waiver does not extend to any such claim or liability that is caused solely and exclusively by the gross negligence of the City of Mesa or its employees, supervisors, appointed officials, agents, representatives and volunteers.
